winter projects

Anyone have any winter projects planned?  Share what your doing, I've got an issue that I hope to fix, I'm getting oil in my air filter, repair manual said it could by a number of things all ready ruled out over filling the oil, next is checking to see if any oil lines are blocked. Hoping its that and it doesn't get to checking the gaskets!

It's gonna be a great weekend for riding in Connecticut I know I will be out with no destination in mind. Anyone else have plans?

Thanks Elaine! The color is stock  and I plan to keep it - although that was not a color on the '42's. I will keep the group posted on my progress.

Hey Tom, Thanks on the door panels. i stripped the car and had a repaint done in Aug. I'm taking a Auto Body Repair & Paint course in Adult ed now. and will paint the door jambs and reupholster the seats myself over the winter. I did a few shows this year and picked up a 3rd place trophy at the Monster Mash 2 bald Hill last Sunday.

Hey Boatops - those door panels look really great! I've seen your car here on Long Island at Yaphank and once in a parade in West Hampton. It is really a beautiful Machine!

Yeah, I have a pretty cool winter project.  I am planning to modify my 2001 Scout to have more of the feel of a 1942 Scout - full fenders etc.  I am going with a slightly wider tire as I got away with not changing them this last season (shame on me). I thing I may keep the existing fork as it is a matter of money (I am sure you all would rather I keep the funds here in Ignition Nation then in my bike!) but if I can swing it, I would love to go with one of those old fashioned Springer front ends from the late thirties/forties that were so popular on Indians back then.

Normally I ride even in the winter, but I think this will be a fun project to do this year to keep me out of trouble.

Here is a picture of my bike now so I can post it when I am done.
