American Bikers Aimed Toward Education

OUR PURPOSE
The main purpose of the ABATE organization is to work toward continued freedom of the road by insuring that motorcyclists' point of view is presented to our legislators and to promote motorcycle safety, rider education, and awareness. We are trying to alleviate the very real possibility of "Big Brother Government".
We encourage all our members to be informed, registered voters. We write letters to our elected officials and stay aware of what is going on with motorcycle legislation, education and other transportation issues. "New Rider" education classes with certified safety instructors are currently being offered by some New York State chapters.ABATE of New York currently has 25 chapters throughout the state.

We welcome interested persons to any of our activities or to join our organization. Some of the examples of what we've been doing: Toy Runs, Poker Runs, Family Picnics, lobbying in Washington, letter writing campaigns, meeting with our legislative representatives in Albany.
Anyone interested in motorcycling may attend our meetings. We don't all ride motorcycles, but the majority of us do share this interest. To find a chapter near you search on the Links page orcontact us and we will direct you.

ABOUT ABATE
ABATE stands for American Bikers Aimed Toward Education. ABATE is a not for profit corporation formed to promote and protect the interests of New York motorcyclists. We monitor and interact with the legislative process, enhance the image of motorcycling, and provide educational and social opportunities for members as well as non-members.ABATE will continue to strive to become acquainted with both the issues and the people of the motorcycling community. We encourage all our members to be informed registered voters. ABATEof NY, Inc. supports the Motorcycle Rider Education classes currently being offered throughout NYS. We welcome interested persons to any of our activities and to join our organization.

We are not a "Motorcycle Club"
Rather a Not For Profit Organization
ABATE provides the neutral ground which allows us to stand beside and support each other in unity, to safeguard our rights and to be individuals with different views. A concept that we are united with a common interest and now a common ground on which to stand. There are approximately 750+ members in Long IslandChapter at this time and many more state wide. We are for ALL motorcycles. For your rights to ride.
