- Hey Boatops! I used to drive a 52 Ford Customline with a Flathead V-8 from Long Island to College in Vermont Back in 1980. That glorified 'tractor engine' was virtually indestructible! the worst thing that would happen is vapor lock in the fuel filter. SImply open the line and blow in it really hard and you are back on the road!
